The island is equipped with sports and hotel facilities that meet the needs of all types of visitors—from amateurs to professional athletes. Sports and Competitions

The island is home to many well-known sporting events. The most famous is the Windsurfing and Kiteboarding World Championship, held every year for over 30 years in the southern part of the island. It attracts athletes and enthusiasts from all over the world.

For cycling lovers, FUDENAS is one of the most exciting races: a mountain biking adventure that crosses the entire island from north to south. Hiking fans can join the Dunas de Corralejo Half Marathon, a unique race through the natural park’s sand dunes, or the Raid Jable Pájara – Jandía Beaches, which traverses stunning beaches and wild landscapes.

Also worth mentioning is the Corralejo – Isla de Lobos swim, a well-loved open-water race that connects the port of Corralejo to the nearby Lobos Island, in a spectacular ocean setting.

Outdoor Activities

Surf, Windsurf, and Kitesurf – The beaches of Sotavento (Costa Calma) and Flag Beach (Corralejo) are considered among the best in the world for these sports. Constant winds and perfect waves make Fuerteventura a true paradise for surfers of all levels.

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) – Great spots for practicing SUP include the Muelle Chico in Corralejo, the natural lagoons of El Cotillo, and the calm waters of Costa Calma.

Diving and Snorkeling – The Atlantic waters host a rich marine life. The best dive spots include El Cotillo and Las Salinas.
